1966 Fender Bassman 2-Channel 50-Watt Head Black Face + matching Piggyback 2×12″ cabinet.

Up for sale, here’s a beautiful example of a VERY CLEAN 1966 Fender Bassman head black face plus a matching 2×12″ Bassman Piggyback cabinet loaded with two current and paired Jensen C12Q speakers. If you’re reading this you know well what it is. It’s amazing for Guitar and/or bass. It’s been played mainly in studio and constantly serviced. Cosmetically and functionally The amp is above average and all appears to be original with the exception of the tubes. It also has the 3 prong plug for safety reasons.

All transformers and pots are dated ’65 and ’66 (printed ’66 date on the chassis). Everything seems original, all original transformers and still retains the coveted blue molded caps. The tubes are TAD on the power amp section, TAD and JJ’s on the preamp section. Pots works flawlessly. All hardware seems to be all original and fully functional (latches to lock the head with the cab and the two legs works perfect). The amp sounds clean and 100% as expected. The grill cloth is original. The Amp comes with a D2F custom fit amp cover.

The cab is mainly original with the exception of the obvious speakers and a new replacement grill cloth (that’s why you can see a different tone when compared with the head. Also, at some point, someone installed a small tweeter at the center top, which is disconnected and barely noticeable at all unless you open the back. This doesn’t affect at all the sound of the cab. We believe this piggyback might’ve been used with a different head cause it looks with a bit more wear on the black tolex, however it’s still in very good condition and with the Jesen C12Q speaker is a great fit that works great with either Bass or guitar.

As you can imagine, Local pickup in LA is much preferred. Although i can ship it out to Continental US as an option, but you need to understand that shipping this beauty has a cost (It’s more than the courier, it requires the proper double box, padding and insurance) for a roughly 90 lbs shipment.
